Terms of use

Kootzoo is a free map where people post listings about lost, found and adoptable animals, keep in touch with each other about those listings, and find vets, parks and pet shops. Kootzoo is operated by Kootzoo SRL, Chișinău, MD-2026.

Kootzoo only puts people in touch with each other. Some listings are checked by a member of the team before they appear on the map, but we do not check every listing. We take no part in handing over any animal and we do not handle money between people.

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Use your own details and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for everything that happens in your account.
• One person, one account. Accounts created to get around a suspension are removed.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

• Your listings, photos, sightings and messages remain yours. So that we can display them, you grant Kootzoo a free, worldwide licence to host, copy, resize, display and distribute them on Kootzoo and through links to Kootzoo, for as long as they are on Kootzoo. The licence ends when you delete them, except where others have already shared a link.

You confirm that you have the right to post what you post, especially photos, and that they comply with the Listing rules.

Follow the Listing rules. In particular, do not:

• sell animals or ask for money to hand one over;
• post other people's personal data;
• harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or send spam;
• post anything illegal or cruel;
• try to break or overload Kootzoo, scrape data from it automatically, or access what does not belong to you.

Anyone can flag a report, and either person in a conversation can flag it. A report nobody on the team has reviewed yet is hidden once three people flag it, until a moderator looks at it. We may send a report back to you for a change, not approve it, hide it or remove it, close a conversation for both people in it, and suspend or close accounts, when they break these terms or the Report rules, or the law. When we send your report back, don't approve it or hide it, you see why on its page and in My reports; when we remove it, we only try to tell you why by email. When we close a conversation, both people see why in it.

If you think we got it wrong, write to support@kootzoo.app or use the contact form, with the link. A person reads every appeal.

When you arrange to see an animal or hand one over, you deal directly with the other person, not through Kootzoo. Meet in a public place, bring someone with you, and never pay in advance to get your animal back. We cannot guarantee that a listing is true, that an animal is the one someone says it is, or how anyone behaves.

Kootzoo is free and is provided as is. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change or stop certain features. The map and places come from OpenStreetMap and may be out of date.

To the extent permitted by law, Kootzoo is not liable for indirect losses or for what people post, say or do, including what happens when you meet them. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.

You can stop using Kootzoo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety does not allow it.

When we change these terms, we update the date and version at the top. For an important change, we tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using Kootzoo after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.

If you are a consumer in Romania or another EU country, you also keep the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence..
