Report rules
Kootzoo works because people trust what they find on the map. The rules below protect that trust and apply to listings, photos, reports and messages.

Read the Listing rules before you post.
What a report is for
- Lost: a pet of yours is missing.
- Found: you found or saw an animal that seems to belong to someone.
- Adoption: you are looking for a new home for an animal, for free.
Post only
- real animals and real events, with the place and day as they were;
- photos taken by you or that you have the right to use, and that show the animal;
- one listing per animal: renew or edit it instead of posting it again.
Never post
- Animals for sale, breeding offers, or an adoption that asks for money. A lost pet's owner may offer a reward in their description, but no one should ask you for money up front.
- Other people's personal details: names, phone numbers, addresses, car plates or faces, in the text or in the photos. Talk to people through Kootzoo's messages instead.
- Your own phone number or address in a report. Anyone can read a report; messages keep your details private until you decide to share them.
- Content that is false, offensive or cruel: fake reports, insults, hate, violence or images of hurt animals meant to shock.
- Advertising and spam, or links to other sites to sell something.
If you found a pet
The point of a found report is always rounded to about 150 m, so no one can find your home from it. Don't write your address in the description. Before you hand a pet over, ask for proof that it's theirs: photos from before, the microchip number or a detail only the owner would know.
In messages
Be kind: people who have lost an animal are going through a hard time. Do not ask for money to return an animal, and do not pay anyone in advance. Block anyone who makes you uncomfortable and report whatever breaks these rules.
Flagging
Every listing has a "Report this listing" button, and any conversation can be reported. Say in a few words what is wrong. If you report a conversation, a moderator may read it to check it. We do not tell the other person who made the report.
What happens
- Reports from new accounts and all adoption reports may be checked by a person on the team before they appear on the map.
- A report nobody on the team has checked yet is hidden once three people report it, until a moderator reviews it.
- A moderator may send a report back for changes, decline to approve it, hide it or remove it if it breaks these rules. We tell you why in My reports, usually by email too; for a removed report, we only try to tell you by email.
- If a reported conversation breaks these rules, the team may close it. After that, neither person can write in it; both can still read it and see why it was closed.
- Repeated or serious violations, such as selling animals, fraud or harassment, lead to account suspension.
Appeals
If you think a report was not approved, hidden or removed, a conversation closed, or an account suspended, by mistake, write to support@kootzoo.app or use the contact form, with the link to the report. A person reads every appeal and answers within one month at most.
